Tomorrow, April 8th, will feature a rare sight for many Americans.
The path of a total solar eclipse will sweep across the U.S. from Texas to Maine, allowing those lucky enough to live in parts of 15 states the chance to witness a rare celestial site.
For those aged sixty and above, it’s also likely the last chance to do so in their lifetime.
That’s because the next one won’t occur until 2045.
And odds are that a significant number of people born in the 1960s and before won’t be around to see that one.
Especially if they aren’t eating right, working to maintain an ideal weight, exercising their muscles, and getting proper cardiovascular conditioning.
The chances of being affected by -- and possibly dying from -- cancer, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, dementia, severe falls, and so on greatly increase if you’re not taking care of yourself.
The good news is that those odds can be greatly reduced simply by starting today and then keeping at it for the rest of your (hopefully long) life.
Events like the solar eclipse serve as reminders that our time on Earth is limited.
And that we can and should do everything in our power to make sure we’re still around to witness the next one, even if it’s decades away.
Enjoy the eclipse tomorrow (with proper eye protection, of course).
